Hugh O’Donnell is the City of Los Angeles Senior Account Executive for Motorola Solutions, Inc., serving the communications needs of the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Fire Department. He is a native of Levittown, New York, and attended the University of Notre Dame on a Navy ROTC Scholarship. Upon graduation in May, 1971, Hugh was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps and embarked upon a career as an Infantry Officer. He participated in combat operations in Southeast Asia, the Persian Gulf (Desert Storm) and Somalia. While stationed in Washington D.C., Hugh was able to obtain his Master of Arts in Government from Georgetown University in 1985. Following his graduate studies, Hugh was the Marine Fellow assigned to the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in 1987 - 1988. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1994, after twenty-three years of service.

Following his military service, Hugh worked for Logicon from 1995 - 1999 in support of counterdrug information sharing projects on the Southwest Border. In 1999, he accepted an opportunity to work for Oracle Corporation out of its Sacramento office supporting IT integration efforts of the California Department of Justice and California Highway Patrol. Since 2002, Hugh has been a Senior Account Executive and Area Sales Manager for Motorola Solutions providing advanced telecommunications support for City of Los Angeles Fire and Police Departments, as well as Long Beach, Los Angeles World Airports, Port of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Unified School District, and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

Hugh is on the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles Police and Fire Foundations. He is also an Associate Member of the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).  Hugh is married to the former Anne Rudolph and resides in Carlsbad with two of their five children.
