In her role as the Director of San Diego County’s Office of Emergency Services (OES), Holly Crawford oversees a variety of emergency management related tasks. These include notifying appropriate agencies when disaster strikes, coordinating agencies to respond to an emergency, ensuring resources are available and mobilized, and developing plans for disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery
Ms. Crawford oversaw the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during the December 2017 Lilac fire and May 2014 San Diego County fire. She played a leadership role in the Joint Information Center during the September 2011 blackout and 2007 federally declared wild land fire disaster, and directed the communications team response to the 2009 H1N Outbreak and 2008 San Diego County measles outbreak.
Ms. Crawford earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, and is a 2013 graduate of the Harvard National Preparedness Leadership Initiative. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Big City Emergency Managers.
